BodyFX Stencils are made of a durable yet flexible 7 mil mylar plastic. The material is medium-weight and about the thickness of card-stock. The material is thin and flexible enough to achieve outstanding detail when stenciling, yet strong and flexible enough to clean and use many, many times.
BodyFX Stencils were created by our very own Yolanda Bartram award winning makeup artist and body painter.
They are great for airbrush and for regular face paint.
When using a sponge, make sure your sponge is not too wet, and that you have enough paint to make a clear impression.
Add details to the wings of your butterflies, backgrounds to your princess crowns and scales to your monsters. The dot patterned stencils are super cool for super heroes!
The life of a stencil depends on how you treat your stencil. The worst thing you can do to your stencil is to let paint build up and dry. Wipe your stencil clean after a few applications and you will see that the stencil will remain in great condition and you will achieve the same clean, crisp results time after time.
The best way to clean a stencil depends on what type of paint you are using. Water based paints such as acrylics can be wiped off frequently with a paper towel and can be more thoroughly cleaned with warm soapy water. You can soak a stencil that has stubborn acrylic build up on it and you will see the paint start to break down after a few minutes.
Oil based paints and inks used on a stencil need to be removed with alcohol, paint thinner or any non-acid chemical recommended by the paint manufacture.
Got this mainly for the snowflake and it’s a great size for middle of the forehead for frozen designs. I’m still getting used to stencils and finding them a little tricky to not smudge
This stencils been a life saver, especially during this silly season
I purchased this stencil to help cut down paint time as I was doing a large event.
Maybe I was using it wrong but it ended up taking just as long to use as if I’d just pained the snowflakes myself.
The times it did work it looked great.
I think I need a little more practise with stencils one general.
