Most vampire makeup fails for one reason: plastic fangs. Everything else can be perfect and the moment someone smiles it's a costume shop mask. Get the teeth right and the rest is easy.
Here's the order we do it in at the shop.
Dead-white foundation reads as mime. You want a shade or two lighter than your skin, applied with a sponge and pressed in, not smeared. Set it with translucent powder or it will be on your collar by 9pm.
Dark grey or deep red, swept into the socket and under the eye, blended outwards with a chisel blender brush. Blend more than you think. Hard edges look like a black eye, soft edges look starved.
This is the part people skip and it's the part that matters.
FX fangs come with thermal beads. Drop the beads in boiling water for 20 to 30 seconds, press them into the fangs, then push the fangs onto your own canines and bite down while the material is soft. They set to the shape of your teeth. They're reusable, and if you get the fit wrong you can reheat and start again.
Two sizes: 13mm for a subtler bite, 19mm for full Nosferatu.
Stage blood at the corner of the mouth, drawn downwards with the brush, one line, not a spray. One clean trail reads as a fresh feed. A face covered in it reads as an accident.
We hand-pack these in Morningside so you're not hunting seven products across the site.

White stick, translucent powder, FX Fangs 19mm, Stage Blood Dark 10ml with brush, Trick Palette, chisel blender brush, grunge stencil.
Everything above, for one person. Shop the Vampire Pack
The same kit doubled, with both fang sizes (13mm and 19mm) so it fits two of you, plus a vampire eye stencil, Vamp Red Lippy and black eyeliner.
Cheaper than two singles. One of you gets the subtle bite. Fight over it. Shop the Double Vamp Pack
Both are made to order. We pack every kit by hand, so allow one extra day before it ships.
Yes. The thermal beads are the same dental-grade material used for mouthguards. Don't eat in them, and take them out before you sleep.
Our face paints are water-based and wash out of most fabrics. Stage blood is the one to watch. Treat it like food colouring and keep it off anything you love.
Warm water and a flannel for the paint. Micellar water or a cleansing balm for the white stick.
Order before 2pm on a business day and it's picked, packed and shipped the same day. Auckland is usually next business day, the rest of New Zealand 2 to 4 working days. Free shipping over $80.
