For over half of our lifetimes, we’ve been have been passionate about face painting and teaching people how to do it.
As sisters we were introduced to expressing ourselves via creativity at a very young age through sculpting, painting, crafting, and just generally being around our chaotic and creative mum, Nicole. Out of all of our creative endeavours,we both fell in love with the world of face and body painting the most.
We both worked with focus and passion in the for our family's company BodyFX from young ages, trading hanging out with our friends as teenagers for honing our craft. This drive led us both to win first place awards in body art competitions all around the world and to teach at some of the most renowned face painting conventions.
With years of experience and a love for body art, we opened New Zealand’s only brick and mortar face painting shop, BODYFX, which is a candy store for face painters and a haven for the creative.
To set us apart, we wanted to provide safe and high quality products, in contrast to many companies who sell poor quality and sometimes damaging face paint. We also introduced more eco friendly alternative products such as, Good Glitter, 100% biodegradable glitter, and RAW Face Paint which is sold by the gram without the hard plastic packaging.
From the beginning we had always dreamed of starting our own special FX and face paint school, and finally the shop provided us with the space to teach classes, and hold workshops. After teaching many workshops in Auckland and Wellington, we established our own NZ face painting camp, FABACONZ, where aspiring face painters from all ages and backgrounds enjoy learning from us and each other, as well as award winning international guests.
The response from fabaconz was great, but so many people missed out because of travel, cost, or other commitments. so we decided to find a way of bringing the joy of learning face painting to them. With the success of our shorter online content like One Face a Day, PantryFX, and our YouTube tutorials, we realised people loved to learn from the comfort of their own home, without the restrictions that fabaconz had. So with a mutual love of educating, the ability to provide safe quality facepaints, and a desire to reach as many people as possible, the Face Paint Club was born!
