    BodyPalooza Artist Rules

    Makeup Students:

Students compete as a team of 2.
Students compete for the student award only.
If you wish to compete for 1st Place you must register as a solo artist.

    RULES:

    Please note somedetails may change.
Prepare for an exhilarating head-to-toe FULL body paint competition that will be presented live on stage at Cuba Dupa, Wellington.

Categories: There are none! Let your creativity run wild! You can use airbrush, prosthetics, costuming/props, stencils, pre-painted prosthetics, wigs, headpieces, shoes, and more. Hair work can be done before start time. However, it's important to note that models under the age of 18 cannot be used, and any form of nipple exposure is prohibited.
If you incorporate costuming, remember this is a body paint comp - not wearable art. Your design should be 70% body paint - treat costuming is an accessory.
More competition rules will be emailed to artists before the finals day, but technique wise, pretty much anything goes!

Models: Artists are encouraged to find their own models, although some models may be available on standby.
During the show, models will walk in a parade along Cuba Street.
Ensure that your model is comfortable walking in their chosen footwear and being seen painted in public.
Models will also be performing in a catwalk style show, so make sure they can move and show off your creation!
Models must be a minimum age of 18.
    Nipples MUST be covered.

Assistants: you may have an assistant to ASSIST with cleaning your water, getting you food & drinks, and some minor base colour painting and glueing etc.
Again.. if you are a makeup student, you enter as a team of 2 - no extra assistants.

Compressors: All compressors must be tested and tagged to ensure safety and compliance.

Public Viewing: Between 11 am and 2pm, the public will have the opportunity to see the "behind the scenes" of BodyPalooza. You are welcome to invite friends and family to watch you paint and check out the competition; however, make sure your model is suitably covered in paint or prosthetics by that time.

Judging: Judges will be walking around to view the painting in progress from 1pm-3pm - they will ask you questions about your design and the story behind it.
    So be prepared!
Judging criteria will be revealed to artists before the competition.
Once painting is finished, the models will be asked to proceed to judging, without the artists.
Artists will be asked to clean up immediately!
